Scholarship application information

Scholarships

 

The Walton Junction Sportsman’s Club, located just south of Fife Lake, offers $500 scholarships to qualified local high school students each year. Part of the mission of the Sportsman’s Club is to improve and promote the natural resources in the surrounding area which includes land, water, and wildlife. 

The scholarship will be granted when we have evidence of the successful completion of the first semester in the higher education institution of your choice (min. 2.0 GPA) with proof of registration for the second semester. Recipients will be announced following the Sportsman’s Club Board meeting in April.

Applicants must comply with the following criteria: 

1. Current GPA minimum of 2.7 with documentation REQUIRED

2. Must be currently attending one of the following schools:

a. Forest Area High School

b. Kingsley High School

c. Manton High School

d. Homeschooled students at the discretion of the WJSC

Points will be awarded based on the following criteria:

· 10 pts. - For being related to a member of the Club

· 10 pts. - Provide a brief essay on how your line of studies will positively impact our  environment aligning with the mission of the Club

· 5 pts. - Documented involvement in school extracurricular activities.

· 5 pts. - Documented community involvement

· 5 pts. - Letter of recommendation from a teacher or employer regarding your work ethics
